The Planning and Development Department is looking for a
dynamic individual to join our team. Allen is a rapidly
developing community north of Dallas with a population
of 80,000. This professional position will perform
key work in the preparation and implementation of the
City’s community development and neighborhood programs.
This position will lead implementation of neighborhood
revitalization efforts including administration of CDBG
projects. Duties may include collaborating with
neighborhood groups, conducting research and
neighborhood assessments, managing neighborhood
improvement projects and implementing home repair and
home buyer assistance programs. Position may also assist
with long-range planning efforts and other special
projects. This position is an integral part of a small
staff where teamwork is essential.
Requirements:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to
a bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field,
and a minimum of one year’s experience in community
planning; or any combination of experience, education or
training that will produce desired qualifications.

Development Review Manager - City of Richardson

This position is responsible for processing development
applications from pre-application meetings through final
approval, preparation of reports and graphics for City
Plan Commission (CPC) cases and making presentations at
the CPC on development items. Examples of the duties
include: work in a team environment with other planners,
civil engineers, transportation engineers and building
inspection plan review staff; review site plans,
architectural designs, landscape plans and plats for
compliance with relevant ordinances and design
guidelines; serve as chair of the city's development
review team; negotiate with applicants to seek solutions
to development-related issues; and participate in the
development of special planning-related studies and code
amendments. Must have demonstrated ability to deal
effectively with elected and appointed officials,
developers, and the general public. Knowledge and
experience required in reviewing site and landscape
designs. Graphic and presentation skills required.
